Final week.

Hi,we are now in the final week which we have to go to school this year.

At the same time for me, and maybe for much amount of the students in this class, this is one of the hardest week through this year, I think.

On Monday (for me it was the due day of assignments of computer class) and Tuesday, we have/had presentations, on Wednesday, affix test and Friday is the due day of the research paper.

And also...stupidly, I have part time job from right after school until 24 on from Monday to Thursday.

Umm.. I can't count how many times dad I say or will say by the end of this week, for people around and myself.

Every thing' gonna be finish when we get over this week, in a week.

Shooting

Yesterday, there is a shooting of Scott's class assignment.
Ryoko,Takuji, Yuri Y and Hitomi Tsu were the shooting team.
I'd heard that the shooting wouldn't be done, but last Friday or so they suddenly told me it would. I was really relieved.

At 2nd period yesterday, we were in the unused class.
I first didn't were any make up and taken the figure. (Brave of me, yeah?)

And after that Asami put me whole make up. Her technique was great and all of other people including me were taught how a person would be different appearance by way of make-up.

And I also was taught how I usually make up without thinking detail.
For example, she taught me that by lining eyeline under eyes on the skin, eyes become much bigger. Also, by putting cheek powder on right place, it make face looked smaller.




By the way, they said next shooting will be took place in this week and then I will were dress for like prom one and walk on the outside at school.

I do hope it is not true.

At the weekend..

Hi everyone!

How are you?
I have seen a lot of people suffered from cold recently...please take care!**

It's still Tuesday(1st. period!), I'm really looking forward weekend..

What do you usually spend your times at the weekend?

My weekend has changed greatly lately.

Until recently, what I did on weekend was hung on with friends; drink, karaoke-playing all night, came back home in the morning, sleep , woke up then go out again.

But! Lately I prefer "silent" weekend.

What I do at the weekend are;


1st. Taking enough sleep;I slept over 15hours last Saturday!


2nd. House work; Clearn up room , clothes which already washed, and cooking-
because I don't eat any meals on weekdays,it's good chance to do.


3rd.Reading; I naturally love reading. But Since I entered university, I once
stopped it, because I couldn't find time to do.But recently, I restarted
only on those weekend time It's great pleasure for me to read new
stories, lying on the bed, or in the kotatsu with hot drink,
completely relaxed!


I found new genre which I had never read before.
That is foreign books for girls/women. For example, Traveling pants series,
Gossip Girl series , In her shoes or Good in bed.
I like those books because of the original way of expression of sentences,and different out look of world( even though same time, same age, it looks completely different from the world from my sight!). And most great point is, those books make me positive in other words, cheer me up in a way. I don't know why but they do. That's why I like to read them.

Hello everyone!

How are you?

It's getting cold and I feel terrible when wake up and try to get out from the bed every morning X( All of you understand what I mean, right? ^^;;

By the way, have you ever had any pets?

I never, sadly ;(

So usually every time I hear someone talks about their dear pets with really happy faces, I feel to want some too!

I recently feel much stronger about it. I think it is smoothing to do this climate( or not?).

The "dream" appears in my mind especially (or only) when I'm on the way to home from part time job midnight. What I feel is " It would be great if some pet like cutie kitty would be at my house and greets me.."

I feel lonely when I ride a bicycle alone surrounded by darkness. This cold climate spurs it.

If I was alowed to have a pet now, I would get it soon from some organization which introduce some avanderned animals like here.(You can look a lot of pictures of cute cats here. Please be healed! (Especially you wishing to have some like me:) ) )

Explanation how the author makes the argument.

Today’s explanation how the author makes his argument in an article.


This article is blame about uncooperative attitude of people toward criminals.

He refers to an interviewee who was asked about an incident which a killed woman hadn’t found for two days, and he answered to have heard a loud banging and woman’s screaming asking a help.

Then, author asked a question. “What did he do?” He writes the things which the man could do for her, or should have done for her. It makes readers feel that the uncooperativeness of the man could cause the result, and how terrible it was.

He refers to other incident. A woman was aggressively grouped by a man on a train, and finally, dragged into the toilet and raped. People on the train at that time didn’t do anything even though they must have realized what happened. What he wants to emphasize here is, again, uncooperativeness of people connect that awful result.

At last, he says if he is in danger, he never relies on others because no one would help him. By writing like this, he made us feel to against about the conclusion idea, like “ I’ll never be such cruel”.

Response about new law.

Today’s blog is response about an article.

This article is criticism against new law which will be executed in 20th November. The content is that immigration bureau gathers all foreigners’ fingerprints and photographs when they enter or leave from Japan.

The writer against it because he feels to be thought to be a terrorist, or dangerous offender.

I think most foreign people feel same to him. It would be an invasion of privacy, and also make foreign people feel to be watched out.

Government insists to keep one’s data for 70-80years.
But they should annul the data of foreigners who have no problem after they leave from Japan. Because it means Japan treat all foreigners who enter as reserves of terrorists.

I understand America execute such a law. But about Japan, this new law looks too strict that as if it was on the premise that terrorism will happen potentially.

Response about minority groups in Japan

In the first writing, some foreigners and Japanese say their opinion about minority group in Japan. What is noticeable here is that foreign people refer to kind of race, and Japanese people refer to some characters. It looks that from the sight of foreign people, Japanese criticize because of race, but actually it is because of character. This gap may make foreign people be too sensitive about their race..or connect the inevitable reputation ,“ Japanese are racist”.

In the second writing, the writer says “ It depends on the place you live.” I think it is one of the answer .If you live in near by the place called Buraku, your feeling of discrimination toward them is made up without thinking because these feelings are succeeded by senior people around you traditionally. And you might tell it to your younger generation. This is kind of bad cycle.　Same things happen to Chinese, Koreans or Black people.

About handicapped people, the reason why people criticize them is because they have few experiences to contact them. Their discriminations make handicapped people feel fear to appear, and then the opportunity to meet them decrease more.. bad cycle is made　up here too.

What is important about the ploblem is to think. I think anyone should not criticize some people if you don’t have a reason like you can insist it in front of people all around the world.
You can avoid to be brain washed and cut off the bad cycle by thinking.

Misunderstanding of soldiers.

In the place which has U.S. base, it used not to be so rare that U.S. solders picked up girls. But the reason why girls accepted it was for money. In that time, it was way for girls to earn money. And the fact they couldn't earn enough money caused it.
In that age , demand and supply were corresponded in some meaning.


But the age has changed. Girls can afford to live without doing such things. They can get jobs, work and earn enough money to live. So the period which those crime were allowed openly has ended. Girls avoid it because they don't need to do it and now it means only make themselves be looked down on. No balanced shape of demand and supply are left any more.
So it changed shape and became (gang-) rape.


If U.S. soldiers require such things as rewards toward guarding Japan from other countries,
Japan government should think about the existences of U.S. bases again.
In other word, U.S . soldiers make the reputations for their organization and even their country be worse and worse as long as they continue mistaking about "guarding" other countries.

Why I am in IES.

Why am I in IES? Well... there are two reasons. 1.Because I wanted to join and I showed the will when asked. 2. Because I was allowed by the score of TOEFL.
Of course, main reason is the 1st one.

I had been wanted to join IES program since I found the Kansai Gaidai University when I was searching which university to go. I had already decided to major some international or language subject, then searching some mainly Foreign Language University. Then I found Kansai Gaidai, and checked homepage of here. Then I found IES program on this page for applicants. When I found it, my impression was just like, "If I enter the university, I absolutely want to join the program."

Some main reasons why I thought like that are,
1. It said " The program which numbers of students in class are few, and you can study as if you study in foreign country."- I had heard the form or contents of class in foreign country is quit different from that in Japan, so I wanted to experience it for in case if my hope will come true and I would be able to join real foreign country's class.
2. It said," All classes are done only in English."-I had never experienced such
situation and I thought it's clear that to improve English skill, to make myself place in such environment is essential.


2nd reason is short. I fortunately could get enough score to join the program. I thought I would never get such score because I forgot to bring watch when I took the TOEFL and I couldn’t finish all of it.

The second term

It has been about a month since 2nd term started. You may wonder why I am writing about it "now". But I thought now is good timing to write for me.


Well, what I did since the 2nd term has started and until now was looks similar to what I did in the 1nd term, but completely.

First, frequencies of hanging out with my friends increased so much, really REALLY much.
The number of days which I was with some friends are much more than days which I'm alone after school. It's okay, of course , but also it is true that much amount of money has gone it happens because of my way of thinking that "If now is fun, it's okay;)"..X( And it connects my horrible late of presence at classes..
Stupid!!!


Second, my free time decreased a lot. That's because I have started working in addition the reason I wrote as 1st. In my opinion, free time means the time which you do what you want to do by yourself and just relax alone. For me, it's really important time. I didn't recognized until reentry, (Actually I thought it caused nothing if I didn't spent) but I found that I absolutely need it . Without it, stresses increase gradually and I become to be not tender when I talk with someone. Sorry if I make you feel bad recently X(;;


Third, I became not cooking almost at all. Because of mainly the reason of 1st, I buy every meal recently. I know it's bad...but I cant.. it's too tiring for me to do now.. I respect people who make meals after/before working or hanging out. That is one cause why I'm such a poor.
And also one cause I got to be such fat X(!


Fourth, my brain seems to have become worse. I don't know you understand what I'm trying to say, but it happens actually. Someone calls it summer vacation lag.. every time I try to think about something seriously, my brain doesn't work as I order. Something like, to do some reading in class, memorizing something, thinking about my/ other people's worries... I try to concentrate, but I can't. Maybe it's because I didn't use my brain almost at all during summer vacation? Or am I sick?? Recently I'm worrying about it seriously...



Of course, there are not only bad changes but also good ones. For example, by being together for much and much more time, I got to be clother with my friends the before.
And by starting part time job, i could meet many new people there and they are all really good.

But....still bad changes are stronger...



Hummm.....I must make it better by all means...

Birthday Party

This Wednesday, I went to a birthday party of a foreign student, Mike. He is from NY , very cute and kind. It was his 19thbirthday.


Before I went there, I had to go to induction of my part time job. It was first time for me to meet other co-workers. Most of them are students of Kansai Gaidai and are really nice.
It is my first time to work, so I was really worried about it, but it seems to be fun to work with them. ( Here is the homepage of where I work, Kichiri, izakaya. ) I have to go to 1st level inductions for three times, and after that, 2nd.level inductions will start from 16th to 25th, everyday;(!! In addition, the 1st level inductions are for free, then I had to pay to my way to and from Honmachi( Next to Shinsaibashi) by my self...;( It costed over 1000yen and I became very poor..;(


After the induction, I went to Daddy's bar and met Mari there. I had hard the party would start from 10;00, but no one, even Mike himself hasn't come yet then. So we were just talking for about an hour or more.


Mike and some other people arrived at park(It was held at the part near by Daddy's bar) around 11:30. The member ware Mike, other foreign student Jane, Takuji and Yuri.
It was surprise that there are only these people. We had heard many many people would come!
Mike looked so sad.. and he drunk a lot.... But! After about an hour, lots of people came!!
Everyone was relieved so much.



The party continued until early morning. I went to home around 4:30 with Yuri. We ate instant yakisoba and went to bed.

Loanwords

As both the writer ,Tomoko Otake and Sao Paulo said, there are so many loanwords now in Japan. And it is true that even though you use Japanese as your mother tongue, you sometimes cannot understand what the loanword means, especially the when the word is related to politics or economy. For example, a lot of politicians use such words during his/her speech, but few of the audience really understand what they are meaning. But as long as live normally, native Japanese speakers do not get in trouble to communicate each other because of misunderstanding related to the loanwords. Because people live surrounded by people who are same level. People around you talk with you based on almost same level of knowledge and knowledge of language. So if you cannot understand, they maybe cannot understand either. Everyone knows it unconsciously, we rarely feel uncomfortable about it.
It seems to be much more confusing for people from abroad, especially who understand English.
Something they say naturally might sounds what makes no sense for Japanese. Same thing happens from Japanese to foreigner. That is exactly one of the misunderstandings.
Sao wrote that he feels tiresome to read something which includes some English words with no sense. I can imagine how stressful it is. But on the other hand, it is true that if everything is written in only right Hiragana and Kanji, it is really tiresome for us, Japanese. It shows how large amount of civil rights such common used loanwords got.

Summer Vacation

Hi! Long time no see**



I spent half of the vacation in my hometown and half in Hirakata.



I came back to hometown on the first week in August. It was strange that even though I spent almost all life so far and the time I was not there was only about 4months, I felt there somewhere I almost first visit. After I slept and woke up, some deadly bad thing happened.

My cell phone had broken! It showed "out of range" on the screen all the time and I couldn't email or call anyone!! The condition recovers sometimes, but it was always at midnight ant really short time, so I desperately sent back e-mails then. It continued until I changed call phone in September.



There I met some friends. Almost everyone doesn't changed, but someone changed so much. First, a friend who used to be a vice president when she was in high school and was the very best grade student of her school is now cohabit with her boyfriend who is almost 30 and also her father in her own house. She is going to marry. Also, other one who is famous for hating boys, she used to looked down on boys a little, got boyfriend and looked so happy.



There was my birthday during I was there, and at that day, local friends celebrated. We went to Monjya-yaki restaurant at night and they treated include a little cake. After that, we bought fireworks and went to sea and did it. Then, we moved to Gust and talked until morning. It was *so* nice day.



There were days which were really enjoyable like that, but usually it was impossibly normal and kind of boring. My cycle was made to be regular by being woken up at morning when left family eat breakfast and forced to take my sister to and from the station in their morning and at noon and my mother to and from the car school ( She got medium-sized bike license there) by car( First it was so scary to drive a car cause I hadn't done it for 4months!)

At first I felt great happiness to be able to eat every dinner without doing anything, but honestly, I gradually became to hope to come back to Osaka as soon as possible especially friends who were homecoming had left to place where their school is.





When I came back to Hirakata, I felt so good to be free! I became to be able to hung out all night again without no reserve and was really great!!

What I did was to find job. Fortunately, soon after I was back and started finding,a acquaintance promised me to introduce nice one. He said "You will be able to start working soon". And I thanked him. But! He didn't make it true for 2weeks! Every time I asked, he answered" It's soon so wait for a moment please." Finally, after 2weeks and some days, he finally
called me and said "Sorry it was impossible so forget about it." !!

Summer festivals

Summer vacation will come in about 1 or 2 week/s!

Do you know the anime "Precure"?

It is an anime for mainly little girls and　is broadcast ed at 8:30-9:00 a.m. on every Sunday.

The story is that: One day, a curious creature visit "a usually" girl and persuades her, "Fight against enemies and save the earth." First she confuses and answer, "I can't!" But the creature continue saying." You can. You are chosen person, I give you a tool". Then she is given a special tool and she becomes be able to "transformation"! She starts fighting with some special actions and skills. Generally、there are other persons who are"chosen" and should fight together. They joins, and start working with her.


Don't you remember an anime??

Yes, in our generation, it was "Sailormoon"!!

When I first watched Precure, I felt funny because the story was too much smiler to a anime

I loved. And then I found my　little cousin-8years old-watching it seriously. And after it finishes,

she explained me about the each character, special skill of each one,story and everything.
At the moment, my mother and aunt who were there said " We are like watching you 10n years ago."

I don't remember whether I was like her or not, but maybe I was@@.

I think this kind of anime,even it is really "formed", has a strong charm toward girls in some season of age. So these kind of anime never disappear and after Precure comes to the end, next one will starts immediately.

Party!

Yesterday, Yuri, Mari and mitsuko came to my home and we had a party.




The purpose of this party was just be crazy and refresh from daily stresses.




Recentry, we have had really really abundant assignments and I think it was kind of miracle that we could survive that week. Documentary, preparation, reading, writing, reports and other small things.. lol







All of us were too tired and were in strangely high spirit. When it became to morning and look at the desk, it was full of empty cans and snack boxes like that... (- -;;)

The hand isMitsuko's( She was working hard to make a castle with cards... her purpose was almost, but finally failed ;( )

We thought to continue waking uo whole night, but after about 2 hours, we were alost fell in asleep. -.-

Yuri, Mitsuko and I were slept on my bed, and Mari were on the floor.

A nwes

Hello. Today I'm going to tell you a news which happened reentry.

That a high school teacher cover a student head and face with a plastic bag, and
he hit the student's head and cheek again and again above it.
The reason why he did such a thing is that during school trip, a guy-group played
cards in the room of the hotel which they stayed in.
The teacher found it, and he tried to make them fold their legs under themselves
(seiza) on the corridor, then a boy tried to put on his shoes, and he got angry about it,
so he kicked the student's leg.
After that, he found the boy had thrown away the garbage bag which they had to bring back to their house into garbage box.Then he he covered the student"s face and begun to hit him with the garb edge box.

The punishment to the teacher was only cut his salary for 3months.

I think it terrible. The teacher is wrong of course, but the school which he belongs to is also
impossible. Why such a thing happens and being allowed???

Baby hatch

Hello. Today I'm going to talk about two letters both about Baby hatch.


*Letter one is a letter which strongly against for Baby hatch.

The writer criticises Baby hatch based on her own opinion as she has worked with children and families. She insists that the children who was made to separate from parents in such a way would get some trouble in their feelings. And she confirms the reliability of that her insistence by telling an example which she actually experienced by herself through her work. After that she suggests the way which she thinks is better, or best way and should be replaced with Baby hatch. She writes how her idea is helpful for abandoned children. 　 　





*Letter two is a letter which agree with Baby hatch.

In this letter, the writer is for toward Baby hatch. And the writer refers to an incident that if there had been Baby hatch system then, the abounded baby's life could have saved.
On the basis of the example incident ,the writer insists that it is not sure that the baby hatch is the answer, but at least it help the lives of abandoned babies who otherwise may die hours after birth in dreadful circumstances. Because readers had known the sad story the writer wrote before part, maybe they agree with him/her. If not completely, at least no one can criticize or against the writer flatly as long as the person has sympathy.



My opinion

Well, I agree with second letter. The reason is that I really sympathized with the last words of the letter, " The Jikei baby hatch is not the perfect answer, but at least it offers a chance of life to abandoned babies who otherwise may die hours after birth in dreadful circumstances."
It is assumption that everyone should mind not to make baby who is not required come but it happens in real world. What would you do If you bored a baby when you are junior-high? student like the example in the letter two?? It's really really hard to raise the baby, in real, you know.
No one agree, bless, admit it. There is no work for such age persons. There is no guarantee. Don't know how to bring up the baby because you, yourself is still child. If it became so, I think there is no way but abandon the baby.. you may feel it cruel, but I can't say I never do it.
But if there is a system of Baby hatch?? You can at least save your baby's life. It might happens that when the baby grow up and notice what was happened when he/she was born and feel sad or anger to one's parents. But at least the child is living. Living is definitely better than
death. I think it is only thing that the parents in that situation can do for their baby to not stop their life, make one live, as "parents" who love their baby.

Phuket

Hello every one :)




Today, I'm going to tell you a place I have visited.





It is called "Phuket". Actially, it is an island of Thailand and famous as a southern country resort. It takes about 6hours from Narita airport. I recommend you to take a plane of Thai air Because uniform of the company is very exotic and flight attendants who wear them are really beautiful.






There are a lot of activities to do.
For example, Water activitiews, Land activities ,Spa and Thai massage .


Or you can just stay confortable hotals and relax ;)

Favorite Place

Today, I'll tell you about my favorite place in hometown. What is in there are only nature, but
there are some places I really like being. I'll introduce one of them.


Ocean
This is a picture of Japan Sea which is very close to my house in hometown.

It can be hard to agree, because this picture is not so vivid, but that seaside is really beautiful place. Especially early in the evening, it's amazing. The sky is on gradation from orange to dark purple and the sea is clear light blue and it shines by reflecting the light of the setting sun .

I used to shot off fireworks on that beach with my friends often. Though at night, that place is "for-couple" so we were clearly improper ^^;; But it was okay because every time we enjoyed it so much.

Talking of family..

Well, I've written an essay about my mother in my class. Writing it, I thought about my family afresh. Before I came to here and started to live in alone, I rarely think about it because their existence was too natural.
When I came back to my home, there were someone usually. Even home was empty then, I was with some of the family member after a couple of hours. I didn't notice how much happy it was at all. When I feel hungry, very very delicious meals were made for me whenever. I didn't noticed how happy it was at all.

From the first day of here, I really feel thank to my family. The feeling is stronger than feeling of missing them. Of course, I want to come back to my home town! As other classmates did on golden week!! But it's okay. I will.

I thought my parents are really strict and beyond my understanding. But , that thought changed by coming here. Maybe they take care of me? Maybe people who live alone now feel like tings like that??

Commercial for Mario Kart DS (an analysis)

In today's entry I want to talk about the following television
commercial,which you can sometimes see on Japanese TV.

Please watch it at first:



Target Audience

I think this commercial is probably directed at Children who are main user of Nintendo DS and
also adults who like to play computer game.

I thought like this because adults are used in this cm.
If the maker wanted only children to buy that soft, they'd use only kids
and make them play gladly.


Authority

Another thing we notice immediately is that this commercial uses the Japanese
really famous comedic team, the "Ninety Nine". You can find out more about them

Also the name DS is also big authority, I think. It's quit popular now and every children
and some adults want to play with it.

By using "Ninety Nine", our interest for DS which is in our mind beforehand
is reinforced.


Emotion

The commercial attracts audience's interest by setting the locations in many
country.
First,audience get a question " Why is he in many place, in spite of that
this is a commercial for game soft in Japan?"
Then they notices that the appeal point of this game is that
you can play people from around the world!

I think it very good way to get audience's attention and attract them.

nd actors very excited and enjoyableressions are also meke audiences want to
play it.
Then audiences attracted much more with surpeising emotion.

And! One more thing I can tell you about "emotion" part of this cmommercial
is that it contains the punch line which all of the audiences expected from when
they saw the comedic team "Ninety Nine." Becaese of this, the audiences are
impressed by the commercial more deeply.



Logic/information

The audience can't get so many information about the game soft.

They can see the playing pictur and hear a little play sound
And they notice that they don't use astick on that game.
How much it costs.
The game soft have already saled.

I think it's okay, but if they show more about contents of it like
"How is the story/system/character" ,
the commercial is more clear and carefully.

Evaluation

I think this commercial is attractive, especially, basically, of course, for people who like playing videogame and Mario and Luiizi. And also people who like the comedic team "Ninety-Nine" are
taken their attention.

But when it comes to explain how the product is, this commercial could be better, with some extra information.

So on a scale of 1-10, I would rate this commercial a good solid 9.

But for people I refered to before, it can be perfect score, 10.

I live in Nakamiya-honmachi, Hirakata city. It takes three minutes from
Kansai Gaidai.

I come from Niigata prefecture.

6.What do you want to be in the future?

I would like to work in an air port . So maybe Grand Hostess.
Or Japanese teacher. But I want to be in a foreign country regardless of job.

7. Why did you enter this school?

There are several reasons.
1. Attractive system of studying abroad.
2.Original practical English program.
3.We can learn more than 1 other language besides English.
And....I wanted to live in Kansai area ;)

8.How many friends have you made on this campus?

How many?? Well....about over 35?

9.What's your hobby?

Go shopping, karaoke, hang out with friends.

On foot.

Afternoon usually if there is no plan on that day.

It depends on each day...but after midnight at least.

To go out and do some activity like shopping,.
But to just stay home and relax is also nice.

well, this is my first time to write a page of blog. I'm now really ...worry about what to write or.. But, ok. Today's mission is to write about myself---introduction. I think it quite difficult for me -.- ; But I'll do it!

This blog is a part of a progaram in IES A. I'm a member of it. I think it's very interesting that we create blog in English　in class. We're also making a movie in other IES A classes. Sounds fun! IES A program is very nice. 　

There are about 20 members　in this class. They come from very extinsive area of Japan. Someone's from Hokkaido and other is from Kyusyu. So we can hear various kinds of dialects. It's *so* interesting!!
